The Art of Negotiation
Pretend you’re at a flea market in Europe, a local market abroad, or a conversation between two people who both value the exchange.
If you love something but only have a certain amount to spend, make an offer. It's up to the seller to accept, decline, or counter. That's part of the fun.
See something you love for a friend? Gift it. Locals Closet is rooted in the sharing economy and circular fashion. As long as a garment finds a second life, the mission is working.

Built from clothing swaps, local designers, and community contributions.
In partnership with W omen’s Wolf Pack in New York, this collection began with a community clothing swap where 100% of proceeds supported wolf conservation. Garments were recirculated, with most donated back into the local community and a small portion forming this collection.
This is what happens when we choose community over consumption.
A Love Note
Locals Closet began as a vision, to seamlessly immerse into another culture, community, via style. So instead of shopping to feel a sense of belonging, what about an alternative…
What if we worked with what already existed?
What if clothing could move through communities instead of landfills?
What if style became less about keeping up and more about discovering what was already here?
Over the years, I've spentcountless hours organizing clothing swaps, sorting donations, hauling bags, driving across town, photographing garments, curating collections, and returning as much as possible back into the local community.
The pieces in this collection weren't produced by Locals Closet, but they didn't arrive here by accident either.
Each garment was selected from hundreds of items that passed through community events, local donations, and shared closets. Most were donated onward. A small number became part of this collection.
That's why every item is offered through a Pay What You Wish model with minimum pricing guidelines.
My hope is simple:
that these pieces find a second life,
support a more circular way of living,
and remind us that value doesn't always come from something new.
We're bringing back the art of resourcefulness.
We're bringing back the art of negotiation.
And we're remembering that style has always been about creativity, not consumption.
Thank you for being part of this journey of stepping into our power together.
